Obituary


Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 12, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Max Brannon, age 77, of Gadsden, who passed away, Saturday, September 9, 2017. Rev. Daryl Nichols will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Max was a member of Dwight Masonic Lodge #550, and a member of Dwight Baptist Church. He served in the US Army and was a 20 year veteran of the National Guard. Max worked 40 years with Gulf States Steel. He was also a member of the Alabama City Historical Society.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lena Brannon; brother, Richard Brannon; and daughter, Lisa Brannon.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Brannon; step-children, Kyle (Renee) Chambers, Dana (Fred) Farrar, and Lisa (John) Roussell; grandchildren, Jake and Ben Farrar, Olivia Chambers, Georgie and Lauren Roussell.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Chambers, Fred Farrar, John Roussell, Jake Farrar, Ben Farrar, Tyler Pankey, and Shane Watts.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the National Guard Retirees Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dwight Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
